Tue 10th Nov 2015 - BrewDog begins €1.5m crowdfunding in Nordic countries via FundedByMe
BrewDog begins €1.5m crowdfunding in Nordic countries via FundedByMe: BrewDog has launched a stand-alone crowdfunding campaign for Nordic countries to add to the more than £13m it has raised in the current round of fund-raising. The company is looking to raise €1.5m through FundedByMe – so far 13 investors have pledged €9,299. BrewDog has begun a Nordic roadshow, visiting Copenhagen and Helsinki on tour, and Stockholm. The company stated: “We love the fact that we have such a loyal following in northern Europe, and FundedByMe has an awesome track record for crowdfunding. It’s going to be an amazing partnership, and the platform will truly help us put the craft beer fans of the Nordic countries in control, and give them a chance to become fully involved with BrewDog’s future.”

Beany Green hits £800,000 crowdfunding target, closes 38 days early: Aussie coffee brand Beany Green has closed its so called “Bondi Bond” 38 days early, raising £800,000 via Crowdcube in just under a week. Just over 220 investors backed the “Bondi Bond”, investing an average of £3,500 each into the company, attracted by an 11% interest rate. The fund-raising was the first opportunity for investors to get involved with the group which had to date been privately funded by the founders Prue Freeman and Tom Onions. In the first 24 hours alone, the bond passed through its £300,000 target – with an additional £500,000 investment following swiftly thereafter. Freeman said: “The speed and size of investment from our loyal customers and the crowd has been very overwhelming and extremely humbling. It’s so exciting to now have more than 200 enthusiastic supporters on board with us for the next stage of the journey. As announced last week, we will use the £800,000 investment to help fund our expansion to two additional prime central London locations in 2016. We are committed to creating truly individual destinations with real personality, great coffee and art and big bold healthy food.” Luke Lang, co-founder of Crowdcube added: “Beany is testament to the eagerness of the crowd to step up and support unique and profitable businesses with attractively priced interest rates.” Since 2012, Beany has grown from a 1985 Ford Transit on the streets with KERB to five very individual central London locations including Broadgate Circle, Little Venice (Paddington), Marylebone, Regent’s Place and the Southbank. The business creates almost everything in house, fresh everyday. It is generating run rate revenues of £3m per annum and Ebitda (post central costs) of circa £400,000, which it expects to increase to £1.1m by April 2018.
