Mon 9th Feb 2026 - Kerfield Arms in Camberwell becomes only the second London pub to hold a Michelin star
Kerfield Arms in Camberwell becomes only the second London pub to hold a Michelin star: The Kerfield Arms in Camberwell has become only the second London pub to hold a Michelin star. The pub – from Adam Symonds and Rob Tecwyn, who are also behind the Baring in Islington – was awarded its first star at tonight’s (Monday, 9 February) Michelin Guide Ceremony Great Britain & Ireland 2026. It joins The Harwood Arms in Fulham, which has retained its star since first being awarded it soon after opening in 2009. It was one of 20 new stars awarded at the ceremony, including two in host country Ireland – Forest Avenue in Dublin and The Pullman in Galway. In Scotland, Killiecrankie House, near Pitlochry, and 1887, overlooking Upper Loch Torridon, were awarded stars – as was Vraic in Vale, Guernsey. In England, stars went to JÖRO in Oughtibridge, FIFTY TWO in Harrogate, The Wilderness in Birmingham, The Boat’s Star in Lichfield and Ugly Butterfly in Newquay, while Maré became the first starred restaurant in Brighton and Hove for nearly 50 years. In London, Nieves Barragán Mohacho followed up the success of Sabor with Legado in Shoreditch. Mohacho said: “Since arriving in London, my focus has always been to share the Spanish food and hospitality that raised me, and I’m excited by the way Legado has been doing that.” Labombe by Trivet in Mayfair, from the team behind two-star Trivet, added to its sister site’s accolade with one of its own. Co-founders Jonny Lake and Isa Bal said: “We are very happy for Trivet to have been awarded two stars again for this year, and a new star for Labombe is an incredible achievement for our team. We have both really enjoyed bringing the full restaurant version of Labombe to life and we look forward to continuing on this journey with COMO Metropolitan London.” Michael Caines at The Stafford, the first London venture from Devon chef Michael Caines, was also awarded a star. Caines said: “To be awarded a Michelin star at The Stafford London is a truly special moment. It is the first in the hotel’s history, and a first for my debut London residence, making it even more meaningful.” Also in the capital, Tom Brown has a star once again via his Tom Brown at The Capital venture, while Corenucopia by Clare Smyth in Belgravia landed a star too. The Gordon Ramsay group has another star under its belt thanks to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, while the JKS group also has another Michelin star Indian restaurant in the shape of Ambassadors Clubhouse, which is preparing to make its US debut. There are now 192 one-star restaurants in the Guide. Two new two-star restaurants were also announced – Bonheur by Matt Abé, from the eponymous chef formerly of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, and Row on 5, a collaboration between Jason Atherton and Spencer Metzger – both in London. There are now 28 two-star restaurants in the Guide. While there were no new three-star restaurants, all ten current ones retained the accolade. There were 37 new Bib Gourmands and seven new Green stars – awarded to 1887 (Torridon), Eight at Gazegill by Doug Crampton (Rimington), Forest Side (Grasmere), Glebe House (Southleigh), Knepp Wilding Kitchen (near Horsham), The Free Company (Balerno) and Timberyard (Edinburgh). Other awards saw Maria Bradford’s Shwen Shwen in Sevenoaks named Opening of the Year; Tom Earnshaw of Bohemia in St Helier, Jersey, named Young Chef of the Year; Barbara Nealon, owner and general manager of Saint Francis Provisions in Kinsale, given the Michelin Service Award; Roxane Dupuy, from Row on 5, given the Michelin Sommelier Award; and Alasdair Shaw, from Sebb’s in Glasgow, take home the Michelin Exceptional Cocktails Award. In all, there were more than 165 new additions this year. The ceremony was co-hosted by Clarkson Farm’s Lisa Hogan and Amanda Stretton at the Convention Centre in Dublin – the first time the ceremony has been held in Ireland. Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides, said: “Tonight marks a truly historic moment for Irish hospitality. This is the first time ever the Michlein Guide Ceremony has come to Ireland, a milestone that has recognised not only exceptional cooking, but also the people, places and passion that define Irish food culture and hospitality. In the face of a challenging year for the industry, we have seen remarkable ingenuity, commitment and belief. This year’s edition recognises more than ever the resilience of the industry, and we are proud to have added a record number of exciting restaurants to the selection.”
